11 Free Magazine Style WordPress Themes

With the popularity of “magazine style” WordPress themes on the rise, I thought I’d post a collection of FREE magazine style WordPress themes.

A lot of professional blog designers, including Brian Gardner and Michael Pollock, have begun charging for these magazine style wordpress themes, but you should know that there are alternatives available! I don’t question the quality of a premium/paid blog design, but if you’re looking to go the do-it-yourself route and save some $$$, any of the themes below serve as a great starting point:

Cool resource, I didn’t realize there were so many really good ones out there. I’m using the Mimbo theme, and I love it (after some moderate hacking of course).

Nice list – I use The Morning After and have fallen in love with the “magazine” style theme. It’s really great that you can build a great looking website using WordPress.

The Morning After uses some great code and has a community of great bloggers who know how to tweak the theme to your liking.

Are any, or all, of these available on WordPress.com blogs?

(Please also let me know via email: bruce@brucewagner.com )

@Bruce … I’m not sure which (if any) of these themes will work with WordPress.com blogs! My recommendation is to setup your own domain name and hosting account and get a self-hosted WordPress blog.
